Box is a box girder which has a hollow cross section, typically used in bridge structures, Here will discuss about the comparison of the use of rectangular and trapezoidal box. In Indonesia the use of square or trapezoid box is still very rare therefore analyzed here between rectangular and trapezoidal box structure against bending and shear are used to working on the bridge structure so as to obtain an exact picture in the election section. In this comparative analysis and trapezoidal cross-section square box has the same area and span. For cross-sectional area is 59 550 cm2 square box to box trapezoid is 59421.1668 cm2 and length of span is 3000 cm, with the quality of concrete (fc): 45 MPa, for tendons used 6 pieces VSL tendons 5-55. The result of both cross-sectional analysis is as follows, for a square box that stress occurs in the middle span (maximum moment) were: initial stress on the fiber over kg/cm2 -76.7946, -142.5630 kg/cm2 at the bottom fiber, the fiber end stress above -85.8694 kg/cm2, the fiber under -74.2251 kg/cm2, bending strength value is tm 4021.2127, 1369.7556 t is the shear strength and shear stress that occurs is 0.8188 kg/cm2. For trapezoidal box initial stress on the fibers over kg/cm2 -61.3103, -147.1462 kg/cm2 at the bottom fibers, fiber stress at the upper end -78.9414 kg/cm2, at the bottom fibers -84.5874 kg/cm2 , the value of bending strength is tm 4650.6560, 1365.0579 t is the shear strength and shear stress that occurs is 0.3299 kg/cm2.
