Students’ motivation takes an important role in the teaching learning process of English. The identifications of the students’ motivation give valuable contributions to lead the teaching learning establishment to reach the goal. The purpose of this study is to describe the students’ motivation towards the speaking course of ESP at English department of Muhammadiyah University of Malang. This is a descriptive quantitative study. The target population of this study is the 2nd grade students of ESP at the English department of Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The samples taken from the population by using simple random sampling are 40 students who became the respondents. Questionnaire is used as the instrument to collect the data. The questionnaire consist of twenty items grouped into four categories; the students’ effort (intensity) in practicing speaking English, the students’ interest in practicing speaking English, the students’ attitude towards practicing speaking English, and the students’ desire in practicing speaking English. The data gathered are analyzed based on the results of the whole categories. The responses are analyzed by using percentage formula. The result of the students’ motivation identification shows that in general, the students of ESP at English department of Muhammadiyah University of Malang have high motivation in practicing speaking English. It is reflected through their answer to the questionnaire.
