Abstract

Keywords: Bromo Tabloid Info, Comprehension Level Readers In today's era of globalization, mass media and information has a very important role in influencing the progress of the global community thinking. Government-owned mass media is media that is important for all elements of society that consists of various groups with interests, interests and educational backgrounds vary. Therefore, the government-owned mass media should serve as a source of information, opinion formation, generating innovation, and stimulation as well as a communication forum for all parties in the opinion. Thus the expected exposure to the media that contains the policy and will be presented capable of readers. Efforts to transform the Government's policy is meant to be understood the reader. Based on the above, then the problems that arise there are positive and significant relationship between exposure to tabloid readers with a level of understanding of Government policy. Based on these interests, the investigator merumusnya in question is there any relationship between exposure to tabloid Bromo Info reader's level of understanding about the policy of the Government of Probolinggo regency? and the question of how closely the relationship between exposure to tabloid Bromo Info reader's level of understanding about the policy of the Government of Probolinggo regency? The purpose is achieved by the researchers is to determine the relationship between exposure to tabloid Bromo Info reader's level of understanding of Government policy Probolinggo district. In applying the understanding of students about the Government's policy required the media as a channel of information that can convey information to the public in accordance with the wishes of communicators. This is in accordance with the theory of mass communication theory hypodermic needle (hypodermic needle theory) that explains the message delivered very strong communicator and directly of the communicant without any intermediary. Furthermore, this study conducted at Zainul Hasan Islamic Boarding School in the Village Genggong Genggong, District Pajarakan, Probolinggo district. This research used Spearman rho correlation. This method describes the relationship between two phenomena that are both a symptom of ordinal or grammar tiers, namely exposure to tabloid Bromo Info with the level of understanding of government policies Probolinggo district. This research was also based on survey research by taking 93 samples from the 1272 population of students with propotional stratified random sampling. From this study, a value of 0.51 count r and t test = 5.75 is bigger than t table = 1.98, which means that exposure to tabloid bromo info related to the level of understanding of students about local government policy, by category (0 - 0.199 very weak, from 0.2 to 0.399 weak, 0.4 to 0.599 Medium, 0.6 to 0.799 strong, 0.8 to 1 is very strong). Based on the values of r and the above categories can be concluded that the relationship between exposure to tabloid Bromo Info with the level of understanding of students about local government policies classified in the moderate and positive correlation.
