This research is correlational research that is aimed at knowing the relationship of working stress toward working effectiveness variable. While the hypothesis of the research is the negative relation between working stress and nurses working effectiveness in the inpatient room. The emerging hypothesis emerges because the health service demanded to be effective and society become more critical. It cause the shown work results the longer time the lower because of working stress presence and this case will influence the health service to company or related hospital. Variable in the research is independent working stress variable. The working stress in the research mean as the subjective feeling about stimulus that come from working environment so produce imbalance between working demand and working ability that is measured from the stress source from Dewe. While the dependent variable in the research is working effectiveness, it is accuracy in achieving working goals maximally shown by the determined target achievement either related with quantity and quality. This research using non experimental method and population of research is all nurses in the inpatient room of Dr. Syaiful Anwar hospital of 447 nurses, while the sample are taken by purposive sampling, with sample of 50 nurses. The data collection method by likert scale. Instrument validity test by using product moment Pearson that is correlated with part whole correlation. The used data analysis by product moment correlation by using SPSS For Windows. The results showed there is significant negative relation between working stress and nurses working effectiveness, it can be seen from the correlation coefficient value (r) of -0.494, with probability (p) of 0.000 mean, the higher working stress, then the lower working effectiveness, and also the contrary, the lower working stress the higher working effectiveness. While the effective contribution of working stress (r2) toward working effectiveness of 24.4%, mean 75.6% from other factors that are not included in the research. Based on the results, the researcher suggested to the organization to improve effectiveness by managing stress of the nurses by giving trainings to decrease the weariness by outbound regularly. For further research should consider other factors that influence the working effectiveness.
