Abstract

Internet technology offered new development to goods and service trade in easy way without geographical limit, especially in major cities, included 8% of total citizens who did buying through internet, especially college students. The trend of online shopping was not free from crime. It also contained risk like deception, credit card hijacking (carding) and the goods bought sometimes different since the buyer didn’t touch, feel or try the product in real ways. In latest day, ATM hijacking to Indonesian Banks became new phenomena. In this, buying through internet could use ATM card as online trading payment by transferring money but the students still did buying through internet and there were factors backed the decision to buy through internet. The research was survey quantitative descriptive, the subjects were 100 college students who once did or doing online shopping. Sampling used incidental sampling. the research used questionnaire method as data collection and used interview to clarify the questionnaire answers. Data analysis used percentage. The research purpose were to find out factors influenced students in buying through internet decision. From the research and interview, there could be concluded that eight factors influenced college students in buying decision through internet (online shopping), group reference was 83%, trust and attitude was 53%, culture was 48%, experience was 44%, personality was 33%, selfconcept was 23%, social class was 11%, family was 5%. Reference group was the most dominant factor influenced consumer in buying through internet decision in college students of University of Muhammadiyah Malang.
