Abstract

PT Himikarta is a fertilizer distribution company in Malang. Until today, the distribution process of this company less gives attention on scheduling and route, from the schedule side, there is often any delivery delay because travelling time and service time that needs longer time. While, from route, its division for each transportation also do not pay attention on space between retailers so that the distance they take to be far and total of duration time for once travelling is longer and it influence to increased transportation time. It causes the delivery delay and the increment of transportation cost. The main purpose of this study is to decrease the delay in distributing fertilizer. Integrated problems of scheduling and route at last is categorized in the concept of Periodic Vehicle Routing Problem (PVRP). The implementation of PVRP is conducted by determining delivery quantity, delivery time, service time and transportation cost from warehouse to the retailer and between retailers that furthermore is entered in mathematical model and solution searching by using LINGO software. From the result of solution searching, it gives schedule, route and total cost. Visitation schedule after using PVRP method, for Malang downtown and Pakisaji, the schedule of visitation is conducted twice a week on the combination of Monday, Thursday and on Tuesday and Friday. For Pujon, there should be three times a week of visitation schedule; Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. While for Batu, Bumiaji, and Junrejo, the delivery schedule is conducted every day. The reduction of time delay is 21.85 hours/week for all available transportation, while saving of total transportation cost is 10.05 %.
