Abstract

In this decade, there are many students have low motivation in learning mathematic, especially in studying prism. It influenced the students’ participation and makes the students difficult to understand the material. So, it becomes the factor to get a good achievement. This also appears because the students feel that studying mathematic is the heavy burden and there is no interested thing in studying activities. Moreover, it is supported by the teacher who does not have an interesting teaching method. Because of these cases, the writer wants to do a treatment to give a solution for it. It is done by communicating mathematic well by changing the learning method and knowing the students’ learning strategies. In this study, the writer use PAKEM method (active, creative, effective and interesting learning) through investigation method. Here, the studying topics were found by the learners then they must present in front of class. In active, creative, effective and interesting learning (PAKEM) is done to create a learning environment which is giving the learners skill, knowledge, and attitude for their future. It means that through PAKEM method the students can be active in using and demonstrating their ideas. So, they can find the solution in their learning problems and motivate them in learning activities. The problems of this study were how does PAKEM done through investigation model, how the students’ responds toward PAKEM through investigation model, how the students’ achievement in learning Bangun Ruang by implementing PAKEM method through investigation model in class IX SMP I Bluto Sumenep. This study used qualitative descriptive approach. The data were collected by knowing the result PAKEM method through investigation model, questionnaire, and students’ achievement which was known by the students’ final score. The population of this study was the students of class IX D SMPN I Bluto Sumenep which consist of 37 students. The result of this study were PAKEM method through investigation model could be done well in SMPN I Bluto Sumenep, the students’ responds toward PAKEM method through investigation model was good and can be concluded that PAKEM method through investigation model was effective. The students’ achievements (37 students) were 7 students had low achievement and 30 students had good result. It means that the learning process was done well about 81.8% or is based on already designed criteria 75%.
