Art has an important role in human life, because with human art can reach full spiritual life of peace and prosperity as the goal of life, the art of dance seblang are intrinsically aware of the strength that is born of fear and respect are high on the ancestral spirits. Based on these phenomena the authors are interested to do research on the topic SEBLANG DANCE RITUAL AND FAITH COMMUNITIES (Study Description At the Village Community District Olehsari Banyuwangi) with the formulation of the problem of how the history of dance seblang? And what about the relationship of dance and ritual seblang public confidence in the Village Olehsari Glagah Banyuwangi district? This research is a qualitative description, which intends to understand the basis of a phenomenon in the past and its relevance in the present, with research subjects consisted of rural communities Olehsari competent with research topics, using purposive sampling technique in the determination of the sample, sendangkan data mining method was used interviews, observation and documentation and research sites in the village of Banyuwangi Glagah Olehsari District, with the use of descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques. This study used Symbolic interactionism theory advanced by George Herbert Mead, which refers to the specific nature of the interaction between humans, that humans interpret each other and mutually define the actions, not just a mere reaction of one's actions on others. Results from research that, the history of dance seblang olehsari village originated from the Pre-Hindu culture that since the reign of Sri Gunapriya Rajapatri (929-943 AD) descent Sindok professor of East Java and Bali with her husband once ruled Undayana. However Olehsari villagers have their own stories about the history of dance that originated from Nadar seblang a mother who has been desperate to cure his son, when the child is cured, the mother meets nadarnya. and until now dance seblang still preserved and carried out each year after the Idul Fitri holidays during the seven days that still exist today, relating to public confidence in the dance ritual seblang which is a form of traditional culture that can not be separated from Banyuwangi hallmark of public life, especially Olehsari village community. It is seen ritual public confidence also describes a blend of Hindu rituals with the rituals of Islam, and as one proof of the implementation of a tradition for generations if not held seblang dance rituals will be no moral sanction from the legal sense of community so that people continue to perform and preserve the dance seblang as the provisions of the ancestral spirits.
