Hemodialysis is one treatment that made them who have impaired renal function. Hemodialysis was conducted in order to maintain the homeostatic condition of the patient to survive at a certain level. Because it is medically still owned patient choice is to stay at that level or get worse. Anxiety is a psychological condition that is often experienced by hemodialysis patients. Anxiety is more often experienced when going to deal with hemodialysis. Anxiety itself is the emotional state of someone who is not pleasant to have negative feelings and lemon-sourced from within or outside the individual self. Because if anxiety lasts for a long time it will cause tension. This tension will stimulate the autonomic nervous system are excessive, the result could interfere with or injure vital organs of the body specific. This is what causes the need for an effort to reduce anxiety. One way is through prayer, because prayer is a lot contained in therapeutic methods to relieve anxiety. Include sports, catharsis and relaksasai muscle. The study was a correlational study, which hemodialysis patient population is Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang 134 patients. With purposive sampling, obtained 40 research subjects. The instrument used to retrieve data is by using a scale of 42 anxiety scale items and scale of the intensity of prayer that totaled 34 items. Data collection was performed on January 20 to February 20, 2006. From the data obtained on the subject made the basis of validity and reliability analysis. Data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation analysis using SPSS for Windows version 11. The results of this study indicate that there is a negative relationship between the intensity of prayer with anxiety in patients with hemodialysis. This means that the higher the intensity shlaatnya the lower the anxiety. It can be seen from the value r = -0.518 and p = 0.001. Donations prayers intensity factor of 26.8% of anxiety shown by the value of r2 = 0.268, while 73.2% are influenced by other factors not examined.
