Abstract

PT. Surabaya Agung Industri Pulp & Paper is one of the companies that produce various types of paper, one of HVS 55 gsm paper. To produce the best quality products and providing satisfaction to customers, there are some problems faced in the production of paper products that is there are still defects (defect) in the process of production Of these required a method to resolve the issue. With the six sigma method, used to identify the defect and improve the quality of the product. Six Sigma methods that are expected to minimize / reduce the occurrence of defect in the PT. Surabaya Agung Industri Pulp & Paper to create a performance of the production process more effective, more slender with a better performance and still meet the needs and customer satisfaction. and try to make improvements and quality improvement. Six stages includes sigma phase Define, measure, analyze, Improve. In the Define phase pendefinisian made products, and the flow of production process. Measure there are 3 types of defects that prosentasenya greater than any other type of disability that is the type of defect holes, waves and bending die, Percentage of holes to defects in 36.3%, disability hole of 28.2%, disability and death was 25.2 fold %, the comparison of the results 2 weeks early and 2 weeks after the third repair the defect obtained DPMO initial value of 53,704 and as much as 3.1 sigma level, of the results after the implementation of the proposed improvements for 2 weeks in the wet end (the wet) obtained a decrease value of 35,185 and DPMO sigma level of 3.3.
