In the sport field, the confidence about self abilities (self efficacy) influence the athlete performance. And also in the volley ball athlete. Because of that it needs mental exercise to improve the self efficacy of the athletes. Imagery exercise is series activities that imagine or emerge again in the mind about object, occasion, or true movement experience and has been stored in the memory. The research aimed at knowing is there influence of mental imagery exercise toward self efficacy of volley ball athlete of UMM. This research is conducted at volley ball athletes of UMM that become member of UKM-MVBT (Student Activities Unit of Volley Ball Team of Muhammadiyah University). The subjects are selected based on the low match experiences and body height of 165-175 m It is simple experiment research with Post Test Only Group Design. The subjects consist of 12 persons and are grouped randomly into two groups. Each group consist of six persons, one group become experiment group and the other control group. Self efficacy variable is measured with self efficacy scale that developed by the researcher. While the data analysis method by using t test statistical test. The results showed that the average score of each groupo ( ) and ( ). Based on t-test results that is conducted then it is obtained the empirical t value of 2.652. With db =10, at significance level of 5%, it is found the theoretical t value of (t1) of 2.228 and at 1% level it is obtained the theoretical t value (tt) of 3.169. From the tt value, it is obtained as follow: tt (5% = 2.228) < tt (1% = 3.169). So it can be concluded that, there is significant influence of mental imagery exercise toward self efficacy of the athletes. So the hypothesis is accepted. From the research then, it is expected the UKM-MBVT to develop the imagery exercise program so able to improve self efficacy of the athlete. So athlete able to improve performance so able to reach good achievement.
