Abstract

Problem focused coping is the one of coping that hope use individual, because that ways is anefective strategy to solve the problem, particulary in the work problem. Any factor that related with problem focused coping is personality. Personality is the one of factor to influence problem focused coping. Personality that mean is locus of control internal, this personality also expected include in individual personality to solve their problem. For this, the research mean to know the relation between locus of control internal with problem focused coping. Problem focused coping is the strategy that use individual to solve stress and try to solve their problem that directly with the situassion and stressor with use the constructive ways and learn new ways thet eventually decrease or eliminate it. Locus of control internal is individual’s believe tahat their self, their ability and their characteristic influence their success and their failure. This research is non experimental research. Population in this research is official employee of PT.Pos Indonesia – Malang. The ways to assamble sample is random stratification . the ways to assamble data is scale, this research use 2 scale, the first locus of control internal scale and the second is problem focused coping scale. Analize data technic that use is product moment correlation. From the analize data to get koefisien correlation (r) = 0.689 with signification (P)=0.000, it’s mean the relation is very significant. The relation to show is positive direction. The effective contribution thet given locus of control internal to problem focused coping is 47,4 %.
