Abstract

Surabaya-Mojokerto lane road is a route out of town that have a growth of traffic all the time, this is due to the many community activities so that the road should be able to provide services that optimal.dilihat of their geometric characteristics, the Surabaya-Mojokerto road classified into alignment flat is a low gradient level. A road that has a good level of service that has velocity high traffic flow requires an adequate geometric design and comfort level as well as high security juga.dari police data showed on one-year period (January 1 to December 31, 2005) has started 21 events accident with the details of seven front-front collisions, 3 front-rear collisions, 5 serempetan, and 6 front-side collisions, the observed length of roads along ± 10.4 km. and the total traffic passing through as many as 20,342 pcu / day. From the results of field measurement data obtained by the average road width is known that traffic lane width on average in these prone areas is 2 x 4.50, the size of a traffic lane width of this size in accordance with Highway Geometric Planning Regulations 1997, section road between Surabaya-Mojokerto included in the class II road, on the analysis of the average speed calculation, visibility prepare and stopping sight distance is known that the average speed of vehicles at all observation area above the free flow speed, this caused the accident front-front front and rear.
