Abstract

Confidence is very important for everyone because it affects the lives of disabled bersosialisasi.Berdasarkan physical phenomena that occur in Indonesia around 5-9%, which means that 7-11 million of the total population of Indonesia and tuberculosis as the cause of death of the 3rd. From prevalence surveys in 15 provinces with the results of 200-400 patients per 100,000 people exposed to TB so that it can lead to subjects who suffer are not confident that is affected by endogenous factors such as physical factors and exogenous factors such as environmental impact and the pain suffered. Therefore, researchers wanted to know the description of self-distrust in patients with tuberculosis who have physical disabilities. Factors background distrust ourselves, and what efforts will be undertaken subject to overcome them. The study was a descriptive study with qualitative approach with case study design that aims to find out the picture of self-distrust in patients with tuberculosis who have physical disabilities, these factors are the background for patient self-distrust, and what efforts are made subject to reduce self-distrust. The subjects in this study were two patients with TB who have physical disabilities, located in West Jakarta Clinic Iron Bridge taken by way of interviews. Power collection method in this research is interview and observation. The validity of data used is the triangulation with the source. Results of data analysis, image self distrust in people are pulled out because of physical disability of cleft lip and body stooped, felt disappointed because physically unattractive, fear of rejection friend, shy friend teased, less able to control emotions, pessimistic face of illness, fear not age long, fear of failure in the treatment and fear of transmitting the disease. As for the factors underlying the subject is self distrust is a physical defect (cleft lip, body bent), shunned friends, teasing friends, the association is limited. As for the efforts made to increase her confidence by busying herself in work, intensive medical treatment (consult with your doctor, do the recommended therapy), more or socialization approach to the environment, among others, family and friends, sports, reading books, taking nutritious food, worship and rest.
