Abstract

On 2 wheel steering system vehicles, the direction steer is controlled by front wheelsteer angle (δf). Because characteristic of tire and dynamic parameter influence of vehicle, emerge the slip angle when the vehicle make a turn. If the vehicle turn at high speed the slip angle can result unstable vehicle movement (oversteer, understeer). The way overcome this circumstance is to make limit speed of the vehicle. From two kinds of unstable circumstance above, the driver must avoid oversteer at high speed. Oversteer more risky rather than understeer, because it cause uncertain turning direction. The other ways to overcome this oversteer, by using four wheel steering system. By controlling the rear wheel angle (δr), oversteer can be can produce the formulation of δr as the function of δf and speed, which can make stability of turning at high speed and short radius of turning at low speed. By combining No Side Slip method and critical skid, the rear wheel angle create no skid and short radius turn at low speed or at high speed
